Pack Essentials is NC State's basic needs navigation resource. We connect students to essential programs and services, ensuring that all student have the support they need to thrive at NC State.

Our Mission

Pack Essentials supports students experiencing basic needs insecurity to help them navigate unexpected barriers and remain successfully enrolled at and graduate from NC State.

Our Vision

Pack Essentials envisions an NC State community where students who face basic needs insecurity can easily access meaningful resources that will enhance their ability to succeed as students and members of our North Carolina community.

Our Goals

  • Provide services and resources that help students navigate basic needs insecurity while contributing to a culture of care 
  • Foster an accessible and stigma-free campus community in which all members of our community feel welcome and supported
  • Grow programs, partnerships, and resources to continually improve our ability to address basic needs insecurity within our community
  • Promote awareness of basic needs insecurity and provide opportunities for partners to engage with our work
  • Advocate for systems-level changes and solutions that can reduce overall rates of food and housing insecurity amongst NC State students
